Pro Optix are specialists in passive Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) to suit the different needs of businesses and carriers looking to maximise the capacity of the fiber optic infrastructure cost-effectively and simply. In addition to our multiplexing range, we supply CWDM and DWDM transceivers in a variety of configurations (SFP, SFP+, SFP28, QSFP28, or XFP) with bandwidths from 100M to 100G and ranges between 10km and 160km.
When selecting which transceivers are required, you will first need to consider bandwidth, and distance requirements and whether you will be using CWDM or DWDM as well as the form factor (SFP+, QSFP28, etc.) which is dictated by the port on your host equipment and bandwidth requirements.
The attenuation profile should also be considered for the installation. High attenuation of light is sustained at the 1310nm and 1550nm wavelengths and used for reach of at least 40km. WDM transceivers are set to transmit on these wavelengths and a standardized set of channels for other ranges.

SFP is designed to support 100/1000Mbps Ethernet, Fiber Channel and SONET/SDH and support transmission speeds of up to 4.25Gbps.
SFP+ is an enhanced version of SFP, supporting faster speeds. Available as 8Gbps, 10Gbps and 16Gbps and distances up to 100km.
QSFP28 supports Ethernet, Fiber Channel and InfiniBand. QSFP28 is the most popular form factor supporting 100 Gbps applications.
