Pro Optix prides itself in providing outstanding fiber optical solutions which are rigorously tested to meet MSA, ITU-T and IEEE requirements and manufactured to ISO standards.
Our European fiber optical testing lab, has the latest equipment to analyze all our solutions effectively, including: Test climate chamber, traffic testers (e.g. BERT, RFC2544 or ITU-T Y.1564), light sources and spectrum analyzers, oscilloscope, various switches and more.
We test the latest technologies, new solutions, bespoke customer applications, development products – and general quality assurance.
The testing lab is used to support our customers in testing optical modules, WDM equipment, MPO solutions and more. It tests in different environments and applications for robustness and interoperability.
As part of our quality commitment, our expert engineers put products through intensive solution testing.
Compliance
Full compliance with MSA, ITU-T, IEEE standards and Telcordia (GR-468-CORE) specifications
Performance
Using the best optical components and design for top performance
Functionality
Checking physical attributes for robustness and heat tolerance specifications
Interoperability
Ensuring 100% interoperability with major brands
In addition to the thorough testing we carry out on all our modules, we offer a range of testing options for our customers:
Oscilloscope analysis
We can test both electrical and optical transmission with oscilloscope eye chart analysis for data rates up to 400Gbps.
Interoperability with major brand switches
We have a range of switches available to verify transceiver compatibility.
WDM multiplexer light source and spectrum
Light source and spectrum analyzers are available for testing CWDM and DWDM multiplexers.
Links and performance
We can test optical ranges and simulate links in our lab of up to 250/350km.
Robustness to temperature and humidity
Our climate chamber is available for testing the robustness and performances of modules at different temperatures and humidity levels.
Transceiver traffic
Traffic testing can be carried out for transceivers and active equipment using a range of test methodologies, including BERT, RFC2544 or ITU-T Y.1564.
Our CTS CS-40 / 350-5 climate chamber is used to test the quality of our products, but we can also use it to carry out random checks for our customers to give them the peace of mind that equipment can withstand different temperature and humidity requirements. The climate chamber can be rented out along with our other lab testing equipment.
If you have some equipment to test, please get in touch >

Environmental Stress Screening (ESS) is used to test whether equipment is rugged enough to withstand vibration, low and high temperatures for different environments and specifications, such as API 17F specification for Subsea Production Control Systems and IEC 60068-2 Environmental Testing of Electronic Equipment.
During an ESS test transceivers are subjected to stress with 100% traffic and any minor issue that has not been identified at the regular factory acceptance test can be revealed. For example, the test might identify a one microsecond service disruption time at a specific vibration frequency.
Tests carried out:
Random Vibration
A test can be performed to test service life if the field vibrations are known.
Temperature/Thermal Cycling
This test is carried out to determine how resistant products are to alternating extremes in temperature.
Burn-in
Burn-in testing is used to detect early failures in products and increase product reliability.
